'When we remember that we are all mad, the mysteries disappear and life stands explained.'
”MARK TWAIN, Mark Twain's Notebook
'What do we truly perceive when we look at a person? The truth of who they genuinely are or a mere glimpse of a faceted identity? What actually lurks in the depths of a human soul and can we honestly know another person? Each and every one of us owns secrets and shameful deeds that are at odds with our public persona. We all play host to demons that are seldom let out to play. Demons that lurk just below the surface merely waiting for the trigger that will loose them on an unsuspecting world.
On the Edge is a visual interpretation of our human condition, offering a glimpse of a shrouded psyche obscured by masks and facades. Some of these aspects are presented to the world while others are kept securely hidden and secret. However, when these veils are stripped away would we be able to acknowledge and accept what we met on the other side. Balancing on the precipice of sanity, would we recognise ourselves in the other?
So, my question is to you…can you ever truly know another human being and would you in all honesty want to?'
