This is the first of two sisters, wrapped in simple white cloth that represents the tapestry of life made from the threads and themes interwoven behind her.

Interwoven in the background of the portrait are seeds and leaves from the girl’s birth Tree speckled with pearls and small square plaques that contain symbols and associations. These threads join with the draping fabric of life. The fabric of a person’s life is continually being woven creating new and unique patterns.

Birth Tree – 1st May to 14th May – Poplar Tree - Communication

The Polar tree marks a gateway to another world and is known as the talking or whispering tree. It possesses the mastery of speech and language, and imparts good council on those associated with it. The Poplar stood at the gates to Hades in Greek mythology and in the Celtic wold they marked the transcendental realm where secrets and knowledge were imparted. A slender and elegant splendour accompanies those of the poplar tree and their shrewd insight and linguistic skills gives them the ability to persuade and charm when they wish, their natural charisma is an innate and formidable skill.


Pearls symbolise purity of heart, honesty and wisdom, they also bring good fortune.
