None is more iconic that the gallant knight riding to the rescue as depicted in this image. As if from nowhere he comes crashing into the scene on his valiant charger, facing down the menace that threatens us all. We are his inexorable destination and he is our saviour, defending the viewer from dangers both tangible and intangible.
