The artist VULPA offers a stage by stage insight into her method and approach to portraiture.

"As an artist, I believe that everyone has an innate quality and faultless beauty that is waiting to be revealed. My aim with a portrait is to create an image that reflects us at our best, on a perfect day in that perfect light which depicts our character flawlessly. I see a portrait as being so much more than a photographic representation, I look for the simple unspoiled beauty that exists within us all. "   VULPA, artist

To create this work the artist used digital media.

ASSYRIAN KING by STRIX

This is a sketch of a beautiful relief sculpture on display at the British Museum.

The king Ashurnasirpal II is shown either side of the central Assyrian Tree of Life represented by a series of nodes and criss-crossing lines, whilst being blessed by a protective spirit in a 'cone-smearing' rite.

Ashurnasirpal II was king of Assyria from 883 to 859 BC and built a new Assyrian capital at Kalhu (Nimrud) in Mesopotamia where this relief originated.

To create this work the artist used pastels and graphite on pastel paper.
