TIGER BRIGHT

‘Tiger Bright’ focuses on an emerging tiger, with a mesmerising gaze. He enters our world with inborn strength and grace, his progress heralded by the blaze of a golden sun.


This is a commissioned symbolic portrait. The crafting of a picture is carefully researched and prepared with every element detailing a symbolic meaning and reference. This constructs a complex and comprehensive portrayal of the person. The diverse symbolism employed draws upon multiple sources which include astrology, folklore and traditional plant and animal associations.




To create this artwork, the artist used Ink and coloured pencil.

ANTINOUS MARBLE PORTRAIT

Antinoüs was the cherished companion and lover of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. Antinous was deified after his death in Egypt by the distraught Hadrian who erected numerous temples in his honour and even named a city after him. In the marbles from this period Antinous is depicted as a beautiful youth in the prime of life.

To create this artwork the artist used pastels on cotton Stonehenge paper.
