LET IT BE FORGOTTEN

Let it be forgotten, as a flower is forgotten,
Forgotten as a fire that once was singing gold,
Let it be forgotten for ever and ever,
Time is a kind friend, he will make us old.
If anyone asks, say it was forgotten
Long and long ago,
As a flower, as a fire, as a hushed footfall
In a long forgotten snow.

FORGOTTEN DEITY by VULPA

'I remember reading the poem `Let It Be Forgotten` and contemplating all the things as individuals we fail to remember or actively choose to forget. The inevitable meanderings of my chaotic thoughts went on to consider religious beliefs, which for some can become so certain and solid that are almost tangible and yet they are also so transient and easily lost.'

'This painting was my whimsical delve into what might become of a long-lost deity without a remembered name or clear shape, an amalgamation of residual forms. Nonetheless, she remains through the haze of time to perhaps be rediscovered.'
